Time to Spring into Fall! The DFWABJ hosted the 2nd annual Fall Mixer in honor of NABJ’s 35th Anniversary on September 26, 2010 at the Iron Cactus in downtown Dallas. Dallas Morning News columnist and NABJ founding member, Norma Adams Wade gave a special presentation about her memories of creating NABJ. The DFWABJ Fall Mixer sponsored by Time Warner Cable was a success with over 70 people in attendance.
The Dallas-Fort Worth Association of Black Journalists kicked off the NBA All-Star Weekend by hosting the "Fair or Foul" sports forum on February 9, 2010 at Harwood 609 Restaurant on 609 North Harwood Street in Downtown Dallas. An Evening With Byron Pitts, Book-Signing on October 14, 2009. The DFWABJ hosted a book-signing event with CBS 60 Minutes Corespondent, Bryon Pitts, the author of "Step Out on Nothing," at Harwood 609 Restaurant in Dallas, Texas.
DFW/ABJ partnered with the March of Dimes to host a reception highlighting an exhibit on lowbirthrate babies and discussing the disproportionate number of African American women who are impacted. The reception also featured actor Boris Kodjoe.

On October 28, 2009, the Dallas-Fort Worth Association of Black Journalists recognized NBC 5 News Anchor/Reporter, Kristi Nelson, for her leadership in journalism at the AT&T Performing Arts Center. Kristi was recently honored with an award from the National Association of Black Journalists for her profile of Sudanese refugees now living in North Texas and won a second NABJ award for her profile of Dallas County men exonerated by DNA evidence.
